Product Description
Biomass CHP Boiler Plant 5.4 MW Thermal and 995 kWe Turbine Capacity
This biomass CHP plant, with very limited operating hours, features a 9.5 MW bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) boiler designed for wood-based fuels, combined with a back-pressure steam turbine and a heat exchanger for producing hot water from back-pressure steam.
The plant was engineered and delivered by Estonian company Filter Solutions, an experienced EPC contractor specializing in steam boiler plants. The BFB steam boiler was supplied by Vapor Boilers (Finland), while the steam turbine was manufactured by Triveni Turbines (India) and paired with an ABB generator and control system. Other major equipment suppliers include KSB (pumps), Technobalt AS (conveyors), and Rotolok UK (rotary airlock valves)
Commissioned in 2013, the plant operated at partial load until 2015. The plant’s automation system, developed by Filter Solutions, is PC-based with standard visual process control screens. The control room is located remotely from the plant. Local process control is managed by Siemens S7-300 series PLCs, except for the steam turbine, which uses Honeywell controllers.
The delivery scope includes the complete technological system—from the fuel receiving station to the outgoing 400 kV switch breaker in the electrical system, and to the hot water pumps for thermal energy delivery. The metal-frame building, constructed with sandwich-type panels and all building systems, is also included.
