Distillery Pot Still Kohne K1600H - 1350 L
The pot still system is newly manufactured in 2025 by the German company Kothe and has never been installed or commissioned.
The pot still vessel is constructed from premium-grade distillation copper with a maximum liquid charge capacity of 1,350 liters. The heating system is an indirect steam bath (jacket-style) housed in an externally clad, insulated stainless steel enclosure, which also serves as the vessel support skirt.
The pear-shaped whiskey helmet (still head) is formed from 4–5 mm thick, high-quality polished copper, finished to a smooth, high-luster exterior and sanitary-grade internal surface. The helmet is connected to the pot via external stainless steel sanitary flanging, designed with no visible screws or internal gaskets in the vapor path, ensuring an unobstructed and contamination-free distillation surface. The helmet includes integrated sight glasses and a mounted thermometer for real-time process observation.
The system is equipped with a side-entry stainless steel agitator assembly, mechanically mounted in the pot vessel. The agitator motor rating is 2.2 kW at 138 rpm, powered by a standard 400 V / 50 Hz electrical supply, and is not certified for ATEX hazardous environments.
The vertical condenser column operates on a shell-and-tube configuration, fabricated from V4A stainless steel (316-series equivalent). Cooling is controlled automatically through a thermostatically regulated coolant valve, providing stable condensing temperatures and automated flow modulation.
A single-chamber alcohol receiver (spirit safe interface) is installed downstream of the condenser which enables visual monitoring of distillation flow, and alcohol strength/proof verification via calibrated concentration scale, protected by a transparent glass cover.
All spirit vapor lines, distillate outflow channels, cooling-water supply loops, and wash-contact piping systems are fully constructed from sanitary stainless steel, including the distillate discharge device and all water utility connections.
The system includes a CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) configuration, comprising:
Rotating stainless spray injectors within the pot body, and
A dedicated helmet cleaning nozzle, both supplied by facility hot-water utilities without a forced pump.
Installed safety and monitoring systems include:
Overflow discharge protection,
Vacuum breaker (vessel vacuum collapse prevention),
Jacket/system pressure gauge, and
External over-pressure protection valves in compliance with pressure-equipment safety standards.
The assembly holds CE certification under the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU, and the vessel is fitted with an official CE marking and identification plate.
